How we score

One score, three signals.

Every ranked company's score is a weighted sum of three measurable hiring signals.

Compositescore = 0.60 × demand + 0.30 × breadth + 0.10 × ai-titledAll three sub-scores are 0–100; the composite is on the same scale.

Why this signal

Measures the share of a company's job ads that require AI-related skills. Job ads are a leading indicator of where AI work is being applied — the skill is requested before the hire is made, and long before the work appears in public reporting. Weighted highest because it's the least noisy of the three signals: a company can only post an AI-skilled ad if AI work is actually planned.

Why this signal

Counts how many of a company's hiring functions (IT, Data, HR, Operations, …) have posted ≥1 AI-skilled ad, divided by the larger of (a) total functions that posted any ad and (b) a minimum-sample floor of 5. The floor stops a single-function micro-employer from scoring 100% on breadth after one AI ad. Breadth distinguishes "AI in one team" from "AI across the organisation".

Why this signal

Measures the share of job ads where "AI", "ML" or "LLM" appears in the job title — roles defined around the technology rather than using it alongside other tools. Weighted lowest because such roles remain rare and concentrate in a small set of employers, so the signal is high-variance.

What this index does not capture
  • AI work done without hiring.Companies that have adopted AI with their existing workforce — or hired before this window — don't appear unless they posted relevant ads here.
  • Roles filled through recruiters. Recruitment agencies post on behalf of their clients; the AI signal in those ads belongs to the client, not the agency. Recruiters are excluded from the cohort, so any company hiring exclusively via agencies is invisible to the index.
  • Small employers. The cohort floor is 50 staff. Most Latvian companies — and many high-AI niche shops — sit below this line and are out of scope.
  • Small samples. Companies near the 5-ad eligibility floor produce noisier scores. Rows below 15 ads are tagged n=XX in the rankings so you can weigh the score against the sample.
  • Foreign cross-postings. Job boards in Latvia host ads from foreign brands that hire here remotely. These are excluded from the cohort but contribute to the market-level totals.
